Big News
There is really good, and some sad news today. We’ll start with the sad news first… I officially gave my notice to Sony today and October 26th will be my last day. It’s hard to say goodbye to the team that I have worked with for more than six years. What a great bunch of people, all around, professionally and personally. I wish them nothing but the best, big things are coming from the VASG group in 08!
The good news is that I have accepted the Technical Art Director position at Turbine games. We’ll be moving to the greater Boston area in early November and we are all very excited. The technical artists are the people who set up characters so they can be animated, think puppet makers. They also make sure all the art can work together for the real-time world. It’ll be exciting and challenging.
We are moving out of San Diego to Massachusetts … in NOVEMBER. yeah we are crazy, but the time is right for us to head back home. We’ll be within a couple hours drive of most of our family. Which is what it is all about.
I’ll post more on the move, if the craziness allows.

Wow, that is big news! Sounds like a lot of change, but all for the better I’m sure. I would say that you’ll be missed but then we don’t really see much of each other anyways. Though now it seems I’ll have to travel all the way to Massachusetts if I want a good foosball game. I’m looking forward to hearing all about your new endeavors and experiences as a “puppet master.” Geppetto’s got nothin’ on ya!

Thanks for the kind words. The new company has an awesome foosball table, so I’ll be keeping my skillz sharp for your visit.

You will definitely be missed, Chad. I wish you all the best. You have been a mentor and friend as well as a gentlemen and a scholar.

Thanks Mike G! You have been fun to work with and I am truly impressed at how fast you dominated all the scripting languages we use and abuse at work. I’ll get you that bass amp tomorrow.

Chad, we’re psyched that you’ll be living closer to us & our family. It’ll be great for the kids to see more of each other. Lots of fun times await. See you in 2 weeks! Jeff & Fam.

Jeff, Yeah we’re pretty excited too. Sophia wont stop talking about Xavier. “Can I give this to Xavier”? “I love my cousin Xavier”, “How many more nights until we see Xavier”? etc etc.
Its cute and I can’t wait to get the kids together.
